While others are giving you exhausting lists of 100 things to do this weekend (seriously, how are we supposed to choose?!), we're keeping things simple and streamlined. Instead of trying to make it to a million okay events, here are the five things you can actually fit into your schedule this weekend...that range in price from free to "eh, it won't break the bank." 1. HEAR THIS : CHVRCHES At the Shrine Auditorium, Saturday October 17th at 7:30pm
Few bands have been making a larger splash of late than Scottish band CHVRCHES, and for good reason. Their upbeat, electro-rock is the perfect mix of angelic vocals and dance-worthy rhythms. Catch them this Saturday at the Shrine Auditorium-- tickets are still on sale, and have been heavily discounted. Seriously, you gotta go.
2. SEE THIS : The Broad Museum, Downtown LA
LA's most hyped new museum, The Broad, is finally open, and we know that you've been "meaning to check it out" so you can tell your parents/friends/coworkers how cool and cultured you are. So why not reserve the free tickets ahead of time, and actually go before they beat you to it? Guaranteed to give you plenty of culture cred to brag about in the office come Monday morning.
3. EAT THIS : Off The Hook Santa Monica Seafood Festival, Saturday October 17th from 3-7pm
If you're in the mood for all-you-can-eat seafood courtesy of the seaside's biggest restos (think Geoffrey's Malibu, James Beach, Upper West, and Salt & Straw, then you're in for a big treat. From 3-7pm, The Santa Monica Pier will play host to the festival, featuring beer gardens, vodka tastings, and plenty of fun and games. Tickets are still on sale, and though they're a bit pricier, they'll give you access to plenty.
4. DRINK THIS : The Burbank Beer Festival, Saturday October 17th at 12pm
Get a little taste of Oktoberfest with the first annual Burbank Beer Festival. For a $40 ticket, enjoy a celebration in the streets of Burbank with over 85 beers on tap from local craft breweries, as well as much and other vendors. So beat the heat and get your indie-brew drink on.
5. WATCH THIS : The Rooftop Film Club Presents When Harry Met Sally, Sunday October 18th at 8pm
It seems like outdoor movies are pretty much a go-to when its warm in LA, and this weekend, they're being taken to new heights. Go to The Montalban Theater Rooftop and check out their showing of When Harry Met Sally, Sunday the 18th at 8pm. Come hungry, order dinner at the Rooftop, and enjoy the sunset!
