There are days (many of them, in fact) in which putting on anything more than jeans and a tee seems like an impossible task. I mean, who has the patience for skirts and dresses and fancy blouses? Especially in LA, we live in our jeans and t-shirts, but sticking to this classic outfit formula doesn't have to mean compromising on personal style. Think of the combo as your basic foundation which you can build upon to create an outfit that is uniquely you. Endlessly versatile, you can also bring your jeans and tees from day to night...if you know what you're doing. And this Fall, I'm having a lot of fun playing with these separates by injecting a bit of the season's biggest trends into the look.
For day, I'm keeping it ultra simple, sticking with on-trend high-waisted jeans that make a statement on their own. Layering on a sleek, long vest and some low block heels adds a bit of sophistication. Simple, easy, comfortable, with just enough style.
For night, I'm swapping out my block heels and vest for a sleek leopard print blazer (a printed blazer is a definitely must-have this season), as well as some classic strappy sandals. It's another simple look, but an easy switch if you're heading to a nice dinner from work.
