NYE is always hyped up as the best night of the year. But is it ever, really? Though we've all had some wonderful NYE celebrations, it's not always the most fun holiday to celebrate in this city. Every party is insanely expensive, the traffic is dreadful, and picking a DD usually comes down to a coin flip. Who wants to shell out $100 to wait in line for an hour, barely get a glass of champagne, and stay sober enough to drive home? Well we're rounding up some of the best-looking NYE events in LA that won't cost a fortune! And make sure to get an Uber at the end of the night!
1. NYE at Grand Park, Downtown LA
This one is actually FREE! Enjoy the best January weather in the country and party outside at Grand Park Downtown. With live music, food, and 3-D digital video mapping (whatever that means), have a laid-back evening in the heart of this city. But fair warning: this event is alcohol free, so make sure to pre-game adequately. See more details here.
2. No Cover New Year's at Angel City Brewery
What better way to spend this boozy night than at a brewery? Go to Angel City (again, FREE) for live music, food trucks, brews on tap, and a midnight toast! Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and big, airy space! For more information, visit their website.
3. The Craftsman Gets Classy at The Craftsman Santa Monica
For $50, you get an open bar, complimentary snacks, party favors, a champagne toast, and a live band and DJ at this cool bar in Santa Monica. Get your tickets here!
4. New Year's Eve at the Pub at Golden Road Brewing
Breweries seem to be the new New Year's hotspot. Golden Road Brewing in Glendale is a beautiful venue, with a lot of open space, beautiful bars, and great food! For $40, you'll get a 3-course gourmet dinner, a beer, and a midnight toast! With live music, this all seems like a great deal. Check out the Facebook event for more information!
5. New Year's at Bar Marmont
Surprisingly, the swanky Bar Marmont is only charging $50 for general admission to their NYE bash. Though the tickets only include admission and a champagne toast, there will be a live DJ and plenty of fun people-watching! Get your tickets here.
6. NYE at Good Times at Davey Waynes
Easily becoming one of the hottest bars in the city, Good Times at Davey Waynes is offering up a live band, DJ, and a complimentary glass of champagne for $50. There's also something about roller skating shows...because why not? Check out Eventbrite for tickets.
