We know how stressful it can be when you see those lists that are like "The 40 Places You Must Try This Week!" Who has the time and money to try every new restaurant that's popping up each month? So that's why we like to focus on more achievable goals, like the one brunch place to go this weekend, or the 5 restaurants to put on your wishlist. And this week, we're giving you 5 places that are really heating up. Getting a table may be getting tricky at some of these up-and-coming spots, but we guarantee they're worth it.
1. B.S. Tacqueria
The little sister of ELA fave Broken Spanish, B.S. Taqueria is DTLA's new hot taco joint. With a great cocktail program, a cool interior, and plenty of spice, make sure to make your reservations ahead of time. Walk-ins on the weekends are looking at an hour wait.
It's always nice to see a place pop up on the Sunset strip that isn't a total cheese-ball tourist trap. Estrella* is a chic new place fitting LA's bohemian spirit, perfect as a happy hour meeting spot or a new brunch getaway.
3. Trois Familia
The third collaboration between Chefs Ludo Lefebvre, Jon Shook, and Vinny Dotolo, Trois Familia is a new brunch spot inspired by French, Mexican, and Spanish cuisine. Like their other 2 restaurants, Trois Familia is already quite a hit.
4. Bel Air Bar + Grill
With a recent renovation and brand new Chef, Chris Emerling, Bel Air Bar + Grill* is stepping up its game. Serving "borderless" California cuisine, Chef Emerling's new menu boasts a locally sourced, globally inspired fare. Though it's still flying relatively under-the-radar, we have a feeling it will start heating up soon.
5. Maple Block Meat Company
Bringing Texas BBQ to Culver City (adding to the recent addition of Korean BBQ), Maple Block Meat Company is already becoming a serious destination for city-goers in need of delicious brisket and beer. Make sure to make a rez, because like B.S. Taqueria, getting a table here is not easy.
