I like to think that I possess some general sense of organizational skill, persistence, and forethought; yet every time the holiday season rolls around, I have a slew of "oh shit!" moments reminding me of all the gifts I still have to purchase, wrap, and give out. Inevitably, the gift shopping process becomes a last-minute race against the clock (as if the holidays aren't the exact same time every year) while I scramble to find last minute holiday gifts for everyone in my life that fits into my relatively tiny budget. Instead of running around all over the city per usual, I'm one-stop-shopping for all the ladies at The Village at Westfield Topanga. From my beauty-loving gal pals to all my blogger besties, these 3 spots below are minimizing my stress levels while maximizing my gifting possibilities.
1. Planet Beauty : Liquid Lipsticks for the Make-Up Geeks
This upscale beauty retailer hailing from Newport Beach continues to expand their California-based empire with a new location at The Village. Boasting high-end make-up, skincare, haircare, and beauty tools, it's a great alternative for finding cult-worthy brands like By Terry and Nuxe Paris. They also have plenty of small goodies to fill up your friends' stockings, like Stila liquid lipsticks (I have one in Patina and love it), Goe Oil, and even, yes, Poo-Pourri.
2. Paper Source : Insta-Worthy Notebooks and Decor for the Trend-Setters
Though invitations and fancy wrapping paper usually come to mind when I think of Paper Source, my recent trip proved once more to never judge a store by its name. Yes, you can still find fun greeting cards and personalized stationery by the hundreds, but did you know that on-trend coffee mugs (with "But First, Coffee" printed in gold writing on the front), marble printed water bottles, and some tantalizingly minimal candles are just some of the Insta-worthy trinkets stocked at Paper Source? With collections of black and white, gold, and rose gold home goods and office supplies, help your blogger babe friends get everything they need to take that perfect flat lay.
3. M. Fredric : Bomber Jackets and Tees for the Ultimate L.A. Girl
Don't be confused by my glum expression (full disclosure: I was getting over a cold when the above photo was taken); I really enjoyed my shopping trip to M. Fredric. I mean, the store is an L.A. (and Valley) staple. They were THE place to shop for JET sweatshirts and Hard Tail sweats back in the day, but luckily they've modernized with the times and now feature a selection of of-the-moment designers like Lovers + Friends, Flynn Skye, and ASTR. Excellent gifting ideas include pajamas from PJ Salvage (perfect for your mom or sister), cozy sweaters from Michael Stars, and one of their many everyday crossbody bags.
