If I were ever to actually admit that there is something missing from my wardrobe (though it feels this way all the time, in reality, I know this is not the case), it's everyday dresses that I can wear while running around, dress up for going out, and just feel comfortable in. I know, that's a lot of pressure to put on a single dress. But I tend to avoid dresses for this reason; unsurprisingly, they usually just feel too dressy to me, and not suitable for everyday use. So when I stumble on a cool dress that I can pair with boots or flats and not feel like I'm on an episode of Gossip Girl (notice how in later seasons, Blair and Serena seem to just wear cocktail dresses for their daily lives?), I get real excited. This Free People frock is no exception; it's loose, comfortable, and the ruffle/bell sleeve detail transports me to the 60's/70's (in a good way). The white hue and light fabric make it totally perfect for LA, as I can wear it when we're experiencing a February heat wave, or pile on some layers when temps drop. The Sole Society boots give the look a decidedly mod feel, and give that upscale heeled/suede boot that's accessible for everyday wear (both the dress and boots are on sale, so seriously go to town). Also, if you haven't noticed, I have a serious weak spot for anything oxblood, and this Sole Society bag has become my new everyday obsession.
