At The Editorialist LA, we're trying to make planning your weekend outings that much easier. So if you're looking for some fun places to go with friends, look no further than these two new spots. One is great for breakfast or a late night snack, and the other would be perfect for a fun dinner with a group.
1. Breakfast: Bruxie in Santa Monica
Though we're suggesting Bruxie's unique waffle sandwiches for breakfast, their new location on Third Street in Santa Monica is open until 10pm. And what better way to kick off (or take a break from) a night out drinking than with pieces of crispy, spicy friend chicken sandwiched in the middle of a fluffy golden waffle? Or, beat your weekend hangover with a pastrami and gruyere waffle sandwich! The waffles themselves are crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside. The fried chicken and waffle sandwich comes with a deliciously sweet chili honey, making it sweet enough for a breakfast treat.
2. Dinner: Roku in West Hollywood
A fairly recent opening and replacing the old Rivabella space, Roku is a new, beautiful space on Sunset in West Hollywood that acts as a sort of combination between Sushi Roku and Katana/a teppanyaki space. With a sushi bar, a spacious main dining room, and a few large teppanyaki grills, there's a little something for everyone. I've had the chance to experience the teppanyaki, which is like a grown-up, higher quality Benihana experience, making it a great spot for a big group of friends.
