Even though I'm an LA blogger and longtime California girl, sometimes, I feel as though my style doesn't fit in exactly with the boho babes and effortlessly cool ladies that dominate the fashion scene. I often feel like I embody a more streamlined, New York style look that embraces dark, neutral tones and pointed toe pumps. But every once in awhile, I stumble across an item that connects my style to that of my West Coast surroundings. Case in point: this blush off-the-shoulder top from Aritzia. Styling the cold-shoulder top can sometimes be a bit tricky; bra styles must be considered, and the silhouettes can be tricky. So here are our top three tips for styling the cold shoulder top:
1. Pair it with a currently trending silk neck scarf (and one of our March must-haves) to emphasize your bare shoulders and add that special cool factor.
2. Balance out the full silhouette with something streamlined on the bottom. A form-fitting mini skirt or classic pair of skinnies will let the top steal the spotlight and seamlessly blend those classic and trendy elements.
3. Keep it casual with a pair of killer white sneakers.
I love how these pieces anchor me to the local fashion scene, where 70's bohemian-sexy is THE look right now, but boast the streamlined, effortless simplicity of my everyday must-haves. Paired with these punchy mirrored frames, you might just mistake me for an L.A. fashion blogger.
