9-to-5'ers rejoice! It's almost the weekend! And while I'll be spending it catching up on rest, Game of Thrones, and grilling steaks with my Dad for Father's Day, many of you are probably looking for cool things to do in LA other than binge-watching TV. In case you want to actually leave your house (and maybe enjoy that almost-warm weather that we're kind-of getting), I've rounded up a few of my favorite events and things to do for the weekend. Since all of these gatherings require minimal effort, I might even take part!
1. Eat|See|Here Presents Trainwreck : June 18th @ 5:30pm
One of LA's many outdoor movie screenings, Eat|See|Here is screening Amy Schumer's Trainwreck this weekend at Santa Monica High School. With plenty of food trucks and an opening number by Sleeping Wolf, you'll get a little bit of everything for those $15 tickets (which you can get here).
2. Smorgasburg Debut at Alameda Produce Market : June 19th @ 10am - 6pm
One of New York's favorite food events, Smorgasburg is making its long-awaited LA debut THIS weekend at the Alameda Produce Market in Downtown LA. Like the Melrose Trading Post, it's a market for food, design, and vintage (but mostly food); and this bustling destination will be open every Sunday. Currently, some of their food vendors include Guerilla Tacos, Ramen Burger, and Greenspan's Grilled Cheese. #nom
3. Shop M. Gemi's Pop-Up at The Grove / Summer Picnic
If you're as much of a #shoeaddict as I am, then you'll be very excited to know that M.Gemi, the luxury direct-to-consumer accessory retailer from Italy is coming to LA! Their pop-up shop at the Grove will only last until June 30th, so go on Saturday to see their affordable, quality offerings in person while enjoying refreshments at their summer picnic.
