For those of us without ample time or money, having perfectly manicured nails on the reg is basically as realistic as those "apartment goals" Pinterest board and telling yourself you're going to start "working out everyday." When I do have the opportunity to #treatmyself to a relaxing mani-pedi, chances are that my polish chips within two days and it takes me another 2 weeks to remember to fully remove it. But that doesn't mean a girl can't dream, right? For those LA ladies with a bit more patience, time, and ability to not ruin every manicure she's ever received, there are now scores of beautiful nail salons all over the city that offer premium services in Insta-Worthy spaces. Because what's the point of getting your nails done if you're not #doingitforthegram?
1. Base Coat, The Arts District
Located in the hip and bustling Arts District (and coming soon to Fairfax), this hot and fairly new, non-toxic nail salon has definitely claimed their mark in the LA nail scene with their catchy motto #treatyoself (yes, hashtag included). Their name seems stems from their saying: “a beautiful set of nails starts with a healthy base coat.” When you arrive, you’ll instantly want to reach for your phone (we won’t judge you) to take pictures of this beautifully designed space...seriously, it could be straight out of a magazine. This urge-to-Insta starts immediately at the entrance, where their green plant wall gives way to the modern decor. It also doesn't hurt that they serve a variety of drinks, including kombucha on-tap. Now that's how you get return customers! For nails, they offer a range of vegan-friendly, organic, and non-toxic treatments and services, making it a go-to spot to nourish your nails, show them some love, and truly #treatyoself. P.S. Don’t forget to take a picture of your newly done nails in front of the light-up #treatyoself sign!
2. Olive and June, Beverly Hills
The cutest nail spot in West LA, Olive & June boasts a modern and minimal design. Girls travel from far and wide to get their nails done at this Bev Hills hotspot, which was “founded on the idea that getting a manicure and pedicure should be downright lovely." And from the looks of it, it sure is. Olive and June offers a range of services starting from basic mani/pedis to organic options as well as non-polish options like “the Vern” to give some good ol’ loving to your hands and nails. With cute aesthetics all around, we won’t blame you if you take a picture of your nails in every corner of the shop. Snap away!
3. Nail Box LA, The Arts District
One of the newer salons located in the Arts District, Nail Box LA offers traditional mani/pedi services with a price point that seems to cater well especially to the trendy working millennial. Services and treatments include basic mani/pedis to organic options as well. You’ll fall in love with the millennial pink chairs and the minimalist interior design, making it instantly photo worthy to take pictures of your newly groomed nails. You might even see the occasional Youtube Star and bloggers who stop by to get their nails done here as well.
