This might be TMI, but I've had stomach issues my whole life. From gut-wrenching cramps while being stuck in a hot air balloon 7000 feet up in the air (#truestory) to feeling nauseous after eating too much burrata (ok that one was on me), these issues haven't really gone anywhere as I've gotten older, so I've tried to find ways to deal with them other than just chugging Ginger Ale and nibbling on saltine crackers. Over the last few years, I've heard a lot about the benefits of probiotic-derived supplements-- gut balancing supplements that feed the good bacteria and fight the bad. I've tried a few, but can't seem to find some that I remember to take everyday, or ones that I feel really work for me. So when I got the chance to try Viactiv's Digestive Health Dark Chocolate Chews, I approached with an excited skepticism.
The box comes with 42 individually wrapped dark chocolate-flavored chews, handy for throwing in your bag or traveling with (so you don't have to remember to bring the whole box!). I love just throwing one in my bag when I know I'll be out all day. They don't have the survivability issues of live probiotics (don't worry about putting them in the fridge), and they boast prebiotic fiber plus 10 billion cells of hearty, heat-stabilized Lactobacillus bacteria to strengthen your digestive defense. Not only do they actually taste good, making them akin to a chocolate-y dessert that I actually look forward to eating, but they help reduce occasional upset, promote healthy, diverse gut bacteria, and inhibit growth of bad bacteria. It's an easy way to address some of my stomach issues, and I've enjoyed incorporating them into my daily health routine by taking one at night before I go to bed. They also have only 1 gram of sugar and no fat! Win win, am I right? You can read more about Viactiv Digestive Health here, and join Viactiv on Facebook for giveaways and exclusive offers.
