While my Summer wishlist includes fun gingham prints, colorful embroidery, and lots of millennial pink, when push comes to shove, lately, Spring outfits have been fairly minimalist. Maybe I'm just getting old (I mean, 25 is practically ancient, right?), but this season, stylish comfort has become a much larger priority to me. Luckily, some of this season's biggest trends are super comfortable. To my surprise, culottes are still going strong, and I'm preferring this season's more relaxed take instead of last summer's stiff denim versions with a very pronounced flare. These lightweight trousers from Aritzia are comfortable, flattering, and so easy to move in. I always love a nice knit crop top, and this structured version (also from Aritzia) is a simple complement to the statement-making pants. I finally got my hands on (or feet in) a pair of simple tan mule sandals, which are perfect for running around in all day without killing my feet. All in all, it's a pretty effortless look that's great for wearing all day long without the strong desire to rip it from one's body and replace it with pajamas immediately upon returning home. It seems like designers are finally appreciating the positive impact that comfortable (but fashionable) clothing can have on a person. Shop the look below!Read More
Going out during the winter is hard work. And let's be real; all we really want to do is stay at home, hibernate, watch Netflix, and order take-out. But on those occasions when our friends convince us to go out to that hottest new dinner spot or grab drinks at a cool new bar, picking the right look is just another barrier to our desire for socialization. Abandoning the sweatpants and slippers in favor of mini dresses and heels is never easy, so finding that semi-comfortable transitional look is key. Swap out your mini dress in favor of a cool leather skirt, which still looks nice and occasional-appropriate when layered with an oversized sweater (for comfort and warmth) on top. Instead of your usual killer stilettos, opting for heeled over the knee boots makes a serious statement, but actually keeps you covered up and gives your tired feet a bit more support. Throw on a denim jacket to add another casual element, but dress up the look for a nicer occasion with some statement jewels, like this crystal choker.

As I mentioned before, I'm not usually the floral dress type. But right now, I'm succumbing to seasonal pressure, and thought I'd give it a try. I have to admit, though...there is something liberating in wearing a flowing, lightweight dress that doesn't require a bra. It's a feeling that I could definitely get used to. Of course, I had to make it a bit more me, layering on a suede jacket for some needed edge. The white wedges are very Spring appropriate, but also provide wonderful and much-appreciated height.Read More
