Maybe it started with the Dodgers vs. Giants rivalry? Or maybe its roots go all the way back to the Gold Rush? Either way, the tension usually consists of San Franciscans painting Angelenos as hella vain, culture-less douchebags while we gloat about our warmer weather and laid back lifestyle (and rag on NorCal's constant use of the word "hella"). Every since sampling the drinks at Officine Brera and the cuisine at the neighboring Factory Kitchen, I've been dying to go back and try more. The meaty Italian concept is a definite must-try in the now restaurant-heavy Arts District, boasting a large, industrial, but beautiful space from which they serve an impressive roster of risotto, fresh pastas, and braised meats. With such a gorgeous space and drool-worthy menu, it's no wonder why Officine Brera has attracted a diverse crowd for its popular lunch service, from Ladies Who Lunch to the Downtown Finance Power Lunchers. Just walking into the restaurant evokes instant hunger; the smell of that wood grill is so tantalizing, it could be bottled and sold to foodies. It certainly must've affected my appetite, because I ate plenty...and there was so much more that I wanted to try.Read More
I know what you're thinking. No, a 5-course omakase meal for $80 is NOT a feasible everyday work lunch. I completely understand that. But for Hollywood executives, laywers, bankers, real estate moguls, anyone with a generous expense account, or even those with little cash saved up for a #treatyoself moment, don't overlook Roku Sunset for your next upscale power lunch occasion because of it's spacious, trendy design. You will get plenty of delicious food while dining in a beautiful room, and that is sure to impress any afternoon companion.
